Cooper Gay has confirmed that it is currently engaged in talks with Heath Lambert, aiming for the acquisition of Heath Lambert’s Aviation, Global Business Solutions, FSJ and Reinsurance divisions.

The move is the latest in Cooper Gay’s strategic direction to acquire wholesale and reinsurance businesses in the London market.

Discussions are said to be in the first stages, according to Toby Esser, Cooper Gay’s group chief executive.

Esser went on to say that he was excited at the prospect of a successful conclusion which would prove beneficial to both the firm and its clients.

Should the talks conclude in a deal, the Heath Lambert employees currently working in the divisions acquired by Cooper Gay will be transferred to Cooper Gay as a “TUPE transfer”.

There is not expected to be any significant affect on clients, though they are all being kept informed of the discussions.
