Barbara Sutherland has been named by Argo Group as the firm’s new senior vice president of claims, succeeding Charles W. Weaver.

Sutherland joins Argo Group from PMA Insurance Group, where she worked for six years as senior vice president and secretary general counsel.

She has also spent almost two decades with Northland Insurance Companies, where she was promoted to occupy the positions of vice president and secretary general counsel.

Dale Pilkington, US group president, has welcomed her to the firm, praising her extensive experience and qualifications.

Sutherland received her law degree from Valparaiso University School of Law, in addition to being a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter and Associate in Fidelity and Surety Bonding.
