Francis “Bud” Lockwood has been appointed by Montpelier US to serve as the president of Montpelier Underwriting Inc.

Lockwood will also assume a position upon the Montpelier US Executive Committee.

He leaves behind the post of senior vice president of Catlin Underwriting Inc, and brings more than two decades of experience to his new role.

As president, Lockwood will be based in the firm’s Shelton office and assume overall responsibility for the firm’s (re)insurance business.

In addition to Lockwood, Montpelier has announced another two senior appointments who are also to be located at the firm’s Shelton office.

Michael Finnegan joins Montpelier Underwriting as senior vice president of Montpelier Program Management, and will be tasked with both the management and development of the firm’s MPM business.

John Dalton, Montpelier Underwriting’s senior vice president, also takes on the position of director of the Direct Property Facultative division.

Dalton’s new responsibilities will be to supervise the general operation and development of the firm’s large limit, excess of loss property facultative business.
