Liberty International appoints two new underwriters

Global insurer, Liberty Mutual Group, has recruited two new members of staff to its Liberty International Underwriters’ division.

Katie Dumenil will be joining the group’s Bristol office as an Assistant Professional Indemnity Underwriter and will report to Rich Mason, the UK regional professional indemnity manager.

Ms Dumenil was formerly an account handler with The Oval Group and has also worked for London broker, Paul Napier, specialising in PI, Directors’ & Officers’ and Crime Insurance products.

Simon Barber will be based at Liberty’s Manchester office as a Professional Indemnity Underwriter. He will report to Ben Allen, the senior regional professional indemnity underwriter.

Mr Barber previously worked as a broker with Bollington where he placed a range of commercial insurance products and gain particular knowledge of financial lines business.

Paul Kurgo, Liberty’s head of UK and Ireland commercial business, commented: “We are continuing to expand and reinforce our regional presence; providing brokers and clients with market leading underwriting expertise.”
