Bernard Horovitz has been appointed by XL Insurance to serve as the firm’s new chief underwriting officer for XL’s global professional business lines.

Earlier in his career Horovitz served as chief actuary for XL.

In his new role Horovitz will be directly responsible to John Glancy, chief underwriting officer for the firm.

He will be tasked with the supervision of all operations of the professional business unit, which has almost two hundred members of staff.

Horovitz will bring a wealth of experience and talent to the job, according to Glancy.

Glancy went on to say that the time he served as an actuary make him the perfect candidate for the post, and praised Horovitz’s in-depth knowledge of the entire insurance operation.
