Phillip Bell, Open GI’s chief executive, is to leave the position.

Rumours of his departure have circulated since Open International Group was acquired by Towergate several months ago.

Open GI’s R&D director, Chris Guillaume, is to assume the post of managing director on 20 March.

Guillaume first joined the firm nine years ago, and six years ago was promoted to the post of operations director. In 2005 he took on the role of research and development director.

The firm has released a statement revealing that Bell, though relinquishing his post as chief executive officer, will take up the role of non-executive directorship for Open International.

Commenting on Bell’s retirement, Guillaume has explained that under his leadership the firm has grown stronger and has become a market leader.

He went on to say that he was keen to build upon the present success and lead the firm forward.
