Coutts recruited by Brit Insurance

Andrew Coutts has been appointed by Brit Insurance to serve as the firm’s new cargo underwriter.

He joins Brit Insurance from CNA, where he spent over two decades occupying a variety of roles including managing the European marine division.

Coutts, who takes up the position with immediate effect, will be directly responsible to Anthony Forsyth, the director of Marine Underwriting.

He succeeds Tony Sigwart, who retires after four decades spent in the industry in May.

Global Markets chief executive officer, Mike Sibthorpe, explained that Coutts’ broad knowledge and experience made him an excellent replacement for Sigwart.

Sibthorpe went on to thank Sigwart for the 27 years he spent heading up the Marine Division, and wished him well for the future.
