Ernesto Berger has been named by Brit Insurance as the firm’s new energy insurance underwriter.

Berger brings with him more than 10 years of experience in the industry.

Assuming his new post, he leaves behind Swiss Re where he worked for a three year stint at Swiss Re Energy Onshore.

In his new role Berger will work alongside John Bryce, and will report directly to Andrew Pembroke.

The chief executive officer of Brit Insurance Global Markets, Mike Sibthorpe, has praised Berger’s outstanding technical knowledge and experience.

Sibthorpe went on to say that his experience and underwriting expertise coupled together made him the perfect appointment to strengthen the firm’s energy team.
