Coversure opens three new franchises

Coversure, the broking franchise group based in Huntingdon, is opening three new branches: Chesterfield, Hertford and Andover.

The expansion brings the total number of Coversure brokerages to 89 and the newcomers include two ex-Swinton franchisees: Suzanne Moss and Anoushka Lynes, who will be opening in Chesterfield and Andover respectively.

The two are joined by Alex Bard & Charlotte Smart, a Hertford-based partnership.

Nick Hollands, Coversure’s franchise director, says: “Whilst we are always pleased to help any suitably experienced individual to establish their own brokerage it is particularly satisfying to do so against a background of fairly negative press about traditional general insurance broking.”

Referring to Internet based insurance businesses, Mr Holland says “I have yet to hear any evidence that they are what the public really want.”

Adding: “Insurance is a complicated subject, yet as an industry we seem happy to persuade the public that it is a good idea to arrange cover themselves. I wouldn’t do it and I have worked in the industry for over 30 years!”
