ESR, the fraud-plagued broker that went into administration last week, have reportedly been taken over by Lloyd’s broker Crispin Speers and Partners (CSP). The announcement comes after Apex Insurance Service, representing CSP, reached an agreement with Grant Thornton, the administrators of ESR.

ESR will continue to be managed by existing directors Paul Goodman and David Taylor, and the company’s current personnel will remain in employment. The company will continue to service its usual markets – niche areas of wholesale, sports, and entertainment, as well as certain areas of professional indemnity, liability, and high net worth.

Managing director of CSP, Crispin Speers, said of the acquisition: “Much of the Apex business is complementary to our existing account and we are all excited by the new opportunities for both our companies – I am also pleased that this transaction provides continuity of service and support for all our Clients and Agents throughout the market.”
