Ecclesiastical re-recruit Sir Philip Mawer

Ecclesiastical Insurance Office has appointed Sir Philip Mawer to its board, serving in the capacity of non-executive director.

It is the second time that Sir Philip has been a board member for the insurer, previously sitting on the board from 1996 to 2002.

The knight’s career has been one of service dedicated to the public and the church, according to a statement released by the insurer.

Sir Philip has held a number of posts in public life in his role as a civil servant.

Later he became Secretary General of the General Synod, and was knighted six years ago for his services to the church.

Sir Philip is also involved in a range of charities, some of which are related to the church.

Michael Tripp, the firm’s chief executive, has welcomed the appointment, praising his extensive experience.
