Woods named as Aon’s new chief executive

Rob Woods has been named by Aon Global as the firm’s new chief executive officer for its London-based broking teams.

Woods is presently the chief executive officer of the Natural Resources & Construction of Aon.

He will retain this position until a suitable replacement has been appointed.

He has been with the firm for six years, and has more than two decades of experience in the industry.

In his new role, Woods will be tasked with ensuring clients from across the world gain access to worldwide markets, as well as receiving nsurance programme design and placement.

Woods will seek to discharge this duty through management of the firm’s 120 global offices and collaborating closely with groups within the firm, such as the specialist brokers of London.

He will report directly to Peter Harmer, Aon UK’s chief executie officer and Aon Global’s (UK) chairman.

Harmer explained that the firm is going through serious transformation, involving the alignment of its global offices (one of Woods’ new duties), in order to help achieve successes into the future.

He went on to praise Woods, describing him as the perfect candidate for the job due to his strong leadership skills.
