The CII has appointed Peter Knowles to lead business development within its general insurance market team.

The move comes as the organisation bolsters its initiative to raise professional standards in the insurance sector.

Prior to joining the CII Knowles held senior positions with Norwich Union. He is a Fellow with both the CII and the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

In his new position Knowles will report directly to the director of general insurance markets, Lee Gladwell.

Gladwell has welcomed Knowles’ appointment, stating that it would ensure the market would be supported by the necessary resources and skills.
