Mike Crane has been named by ABC Insurance as the firm’s new head of broker underwriting.

Crane leaves behind his position as NIG’s chief SME sales and servicing, where he ended a six year stint with RBS Insurance.

In his new post he will be responsible for developing the commercial and personal lines portfolios, and focusing on their profitability.

Crane will also be tasked with overseeing the firm’s expanding network of branches.

ABC’s MD, Phil Bunker, described Crane as a valuable member of senior management, and praised his wealth of experience and expertise.

Crane applauded his new firm’s recent performance, pointing out that ABC is defying an industry downturn as it continues to grow.
