Graeme Newman has been named by CFC Underwriting as the firm’s new business development director.

Newman leaves behind DRS Insurance Service, which he co-founded and which was recently bought by Oxygen.

In his new role, his responsibilities will include the programmes for sales and marketing, as well as exploring business opportunities overseas and introducing new products to the market.

The firm has stated that the appointment is part of a strategic plan which aims to see the premium income increase by more than 30% over the course of the year.

The managing director, David Walsh, has said that the firm has recorded eight years of consecutively increasing profits.

Walsh believes that there is a considerable scope for yet further growth, and described Newman as the man to lead the firm’s efforts.

Walsh went on to praise Newman’s in-depth experience, and his drive.

Newman has expressed his delight to be joining the firm, and has said that he is relishing the challenge ahead.
