Insurancewide.com, the insurer comparison service, has formed a partnership with eBayMotors.co.uk, the online automotive marketplace that sells a car every two minutes and a motorbike or scooter every four minutes.
Under the agreement, insurancewide will provide eBayMotors’ site visitors with a comprehensive range of car insurance options.
Visitors will be able to click through to a new insurance services area listed under eBayMotors Services.
Jody Ford, head of eBayMotors.co.uk said: “With over three million visitors every month, the needs of the eBay Motors community are wide and varied. We believe insurancewide.com provides the right level of choice, service and value to address these needs.”
Insurancewide.com chief executive, James Harrison, added: “eBay has been incredibly successful in helping people buy and sell cars simply, quickly and inexpensively. Offering car insurance comparison is a natural follow on from that and with insurancewide.com now part of the system, customers can complete the car-buying process through an equally simple and efficient process, comparing policies from leading providers and saving money.”
Launched in 1999, insurancewide.com was the original insurance comparison service; it currently offers drivers access to 98% of the UK’s insurers and brokers.
Insurancewide.com uses technology that does not solely focus on comparing prices but identifies individual requirements and then searches amongst providers to match customers with the insurers most relevant to their specific needs.
It already has partnerships agreements with a number of major personal finance portals, including MSN, AOL and Yahoo.
