Royal & SunAlliance has named Robert Rae as their new head of manufacturing.

Rae leaves behind the chemicals firm Yule Catto, where he worked for almost a decade.

The appointment took effect on 2 January, and Rae brings with him over three decades of experience in the chemical and manufacturing sectors.

The unit he leads is a recent addition to the firm’s broker division.

His new responsibilities will primarily focus upon building on the current book of manufacturing business.

Jon Woodman, Royal & SunAlliance’s trading director of broker, has praised Rae’s experience and insight, adding that his attributes will prove crucial to growing the firm’s portfolio.
