Sandy Dunn has been named by AXA as Venture Preference Limited’s new non-executive chairman.

Dunn has worked in the European insurance sector for more than three decades, and is presently employed as non-executive chairman of Capita Insurance Services and BDML.

During his lengthy career Dunn created Eagle Star’s direct operation in the late 80s, and the Touchline direct insurance in the early 90s. He also spent half of the 90s as managing director of Rossborough Insurance Services Limited.

In addition, Ian Brimecome has been appointed to the position of non-executive director for Venture Preference Limited, which is owned by AXA.

Brimecome has spent over three decades working in the financial services sector, and is a non-executive director of AXA UK and The Equitable Life Assurance Society.

Over the course of his career he has advised on over eighty M&A operations in twenty countries.

The two appointments are intended to bolster Venture’s strength and emphasise AXA’s commitment to making it one of the leading players in the UK market-distribution sector.

AXA UK’s group chief executive, Nicolas Moreau, has expressed his delight at the two new board members of Venture Preference, saying that they bring to the firm a great depth of experience in finance and insurance.

Moreau went on to explain that high quality personnel are essential to see through the ambitious plans for building up Venture’s place in the UK market.
