David Batchelor has been named by Marsh as the firm’s new chief executive officer for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), replacing Alex Moczarski.
At present Batchelor leads Marsh’s Asia Pacific team which is responsible for activities throughout Asia, from China to the Philippines.
Moczarski has said that the three decades of experience Batchelor has amassed will be invaluable in his new position.
Batchelor has stated his excitement at the opportunities his new position will offer across a broad and hugely diverse region.
He went on to say that the opportunities were huge, with consolidation in Europe and expansion throughout the emerging economies encompassed by the EMEA region.
Moczarski has been appointed as president of the International Division by Marsh, Inc’s chief executive officer, Dan Glaser.
In his new position, Moczarski will be reported to by the various regional heads of the EMEA, Asia, Pacific and Latin and Caribbean.
David Bidmead retains the post of Pacific CEO, and Alan Cheah has been appointed as CEO of Asia. Thomaz Menezes remains as CEO of Latin America and Caribbean.
