Home & Legacy launch landlords’ policy

Home & Legacy, the buildings and contents insurer, has launched a new product aimed at landlords.

Home & Legacy Let is available through intermediaries and applies the same premium rates for professional, student, and housing benefit tenants.

Cover for multiple properties can be arranged under one policy and landlord-specific legal expenses insurance is included as standard, as is identity fraud cover.

Optional extensions include full accidental damage, and malicious damage/theft by the tenant.

While loss of rent in the event of material damage by an insured peril is included as standard, rental cashflow protection can be added to cover landlords’ rental income should a tenant default on his or her rental payments.

Buildings insurance can be arranged for properties with rebuild values from £50,000 up to £1,000,000, although higher sums insured can be referred for consideration.

“Limited Contents” cover for an unfurnished property is available subject to a minimum sum insured of £5,000 and contents cover for “Common Areas” can also be set up on the same basis.

Policyholders have access to emergency domestic services and legal help lines 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

According to Home & Legacy managing director, Barry O’Neill, the company is developing other niche products that “reflect the Home & Legacy brand”.
