It has emerged that Glencairn’s managing director, Angus Simpson, left the firm on 31 December, after ten years with the company.
In 2002 he organised the buyout from Glenrand MIB, which went ahead the following year.
The chairman, Steve Hearn, has said that Simpson made a significant contribution to the success and growth of the firm after joining Glencairn as founder of the political risk division.
Hearn went on to say that since his appointment as MD in 2005, Simpson had played a key role in the overall strategic direction of the firm up to its sale to Hilb Rogal & Hobbs, which occurred twelve months ago.
Hearn explained that Simpson, having seen the firm through the transitional period of its sale, wanted new challenges to face, and to spend more time with his family.
Simpson has wished the firm and his former colleagues all the best for the future, and is looking forward to more time with his family and facing new challenges in the future.
