The Chartered Insurance Institute has made two new additions to its main board.

Peter Hubbard is a chief executive with AXA, and Sian Fisher leads agency operations with Oxygen Insurance Brokers.

The new members would bolster the board’s professionalism and excellence, according to CII chief executive Sandy Scott.

Scott described the appointments as a strong sign that the organisation wanted to create an atmosphere of increasing public confidence in the financial services sector.

Hubbard has expressed his delight at his appointment, adding that he believed this year would see increasing professionalism throughout the insurance industry and the UK remaining as one of the leading players in world insurance.

Fisher has said she believes in the importance of actively building trust, and going beyond mere words. She went on to say that with full support the CII would be able to developing and maintaining new, higher standards throughout the industry.
