Richard Finn has been appointed by Advent Capital (Holdings) PLC as its new non-executive director of Advent underwriting.

In addition, the firm has declared it is altering the structure of its underwriting team.

Finn has a great deal of experience of business underwritten by Advent Syndicate 780, and it is hoped that this experience will prove valuable in the board’s supervision of the Lloyd’s operations.

Next year’s business plan for Syndicate 780 will happen in co-ordination with the restructuring of the firm’s underwriting team.

The new leader of reinsurance will be Duncan Lummis, whilst Darren Stockman will become chief of insurance.

Lloyd Tunnicliffe will retain the post of chief underwriting officer.

Next year the Syndicate will operate with £135m underwriting capacity, with the capital being provided only by Advent Capital.
