Aon Re Global has appointed Marguerite Soeteman-Reijnen as its new managing director of Aon Capital Markets in Europe Middle East & Africa (EMEA).

Soeteman-Reijnen will take her post on 1 January 2008.

Her new job will make her responsible for leading the firm in creating and developing integrated capital solutions, working alongside chief executive officers and chief financial officers of EMEA clients.

Soeteman-Reijnen joined Aon in 1997, having left behind a position as a Lloyds broker. She has held a number of roles at both Aon Re Global and Aon Risk Services, including a stint as the Rotterdam-based head of global carrier management.

Soeteman-Reijnen made history in 1996 when she became the first ever female chairman of the Dutch Reinsurance Association.

Paul Schultz, president of Aon Capital Markets, praised the new appointment and Soeteman-Reijnen’s unique expertise, proven track record and leadership, adding that she was the perfect person to lead the team forwards.
