Sandler elected as chairman of Ironshore
Ironshore has announced that the result of its election to the position of chairman of the board has been won by Ronald Sandler.
Sandler joined the board this October, and succeeds Bob Clements as chairman. Clements had been holding the role in a temporary capacity since Ironshore was founded in the latter half of 2006. He will remain a board member, on hand to offer suggestions and strategic advice.
Clements has said that the firm is fortuitous to have a man like Sandler leading it in its crucially important early years, adding that his experience in financial services would prove invaluable.
Sandler has welcomed both his election and the opportunity to work alongside Clements and other senior members of the firm.
Sandler has a great deal of experience in financial services, and served as chief executive of Lloyd’s from 1995 until 1999.
In his career he has also held senior positions with a number of different companies, such as National Westminster Bank plc, Exco plc, Martin Bierbaum Group plc, Booz Allen & Hamilton, Inc. and Boston Consulting Group, Inc.
Presently Sandler is a director of various companies, including Fortis and Computacenter plc.
