Marsh has appointed Hutton Swinglehurst as senior vice president and Matthew Hogg as vice president of its global Communications, Media and Technology Practice (CMT).
They will both be based in London and report directly to Fredrik Motzfeldt, the firm’s CMT Practice leader for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Swinglehurst leaves behind the position of corporate development director at Swinglehurst Ltd, the Lloyd’s broker, where he was also a board member.
Earlier in his career Swinglehurst spent over a decade in the investment banking sector, with a particular focus on corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions in the CMT sector. During this time he was employed by Warburg Dillon Read in New York and Société Générale and NM Rothschild & Sons in London.
Hogg leaves behind Kiln, where he held the post of intangible assets underwriter. Whilst at the firm he had developed a range of innovative products related to cyber risk and source software, and has acquired specialist knowledge in the fields of technology risks, issues surrounding intangible assets and intellectual property.
Hogg is also a member of the Licensing Executive Society, the Intellectual Property Institute and the Intangible Asset Finance Society.
Marsh’s Global CMT Practice’s chief, Michael Whaelon, has welcomed both new appointments, and praised Hogg and Swinglehurst’s in-depth experience in their respective fields. Whealon has expressed confidence that with the team suitably bolstered the firm will be better placed to offer improved customer services.
