Wray Appointed To IRM
The Institute of Risk Management has today announced the appointment of a new high profile chairman, following ratification by the majority of members at today’s AGM, highlighting the company’s dedication to continuing to maintain management strength and rotation.
Appointed for a one year tenure only initially, with options to increase duration at the next AGM, Simone Wray formerly of Warwickshire County Council was announced as the new chairman of the Institute she has held membership with since graduating as a student at the very forefront of her career.
Simone Wray has a distinguished career in risk management, acceding from her previous position as strategic risk manager at the Warwickshire County Council having already served for the best part of the decade with the board of the Institute.
Speaking today on her appointment, Simone Wray said that she was delighted to play a more significant role with the Institute, and would look to continue her input into the management of the organisation for the coming year with a view to achieving current priority objectives.
‘Building on these strong foundations, as chairman I will continue focusing on our current priorities and business plan – ensuring that the right resources are in place to deliver them – as well as concentrating on increasing the engagement of the membership and getting them more involved in the IRM’s future direction.”
“Next year will also be about promoting the International Diploma in Risk Management so that we can take it forward and deliver it on a truly international level.’”
It remains to be seen whether the appointment of Wray will prove to be a move in the right direction for the institute over the next twelve months.
