New Marsh chairman and chief executive named
Daniel Glaser has been named by Marsh as the firm’s new chairman and chief executive officer.
At present Glaser is the managing director of AIG Europe, a post he holds in addition to that of regional president of AIG’s American International Underwriters, UK & Ireland division.
On 10 December he will join Marsh.
The MMC chief executive officer and president, Michael Cherkasky, has praised Glaser’s deep level of experience and professional expertise, describing him as the ideal candidate to help take Marsh forward.
Glaser will relocate from his London home to New York, and report directly to Cherkasky.
Glaser has remarked that the transition to Marsh will bring his career back to where it began: his first job in the industry was with the firm 25 years ago. During that time, Glaser believes the strength and robust nature of the firm has become apparent, adding that he believes the future to be a time of both challenges and opportunities.
