Steven Ward has been appointed by Fortis to be the firm’s new head of pricing.

His responsibilities will include the firm’s household account, optimising opportunities in the market, reviewing portfolio performance and motor and household pricing.

Ward has said he intends to collaborate closely with the underwriting team in an effort to develop affinity and broker accounts so that the firm continues to be profitable and expand.

Recently Ward has worked for Allianz as their household pricing and underwriting manager, before which he held the position of personal lines product development manager and personal lines marketing manager.

Barry Smith, Fortis’ UK chief executive, has expressed his delight at Ward joining the firm, praising his expertise as invaluable and adding that he would help bolster the firm’s growth.
