Flavio Piccolomini has been named by Willis Group as the CEO for Continental Europe, which presently has approximately 2,000 associates.
Formerly Piccolomini served as CEO for the Group’s Italian operations, Willis Italia Spa. He will be succeeded as head of Italian operations by Guido De Spirt.
In his new role he will be responsible to Milan-based Allan Gribben, the firm’s Willis International CEO.
Gribben praised Piccolomini’s stewardship of Willias Italia, pointing to the excellent record of growth enjoyed under his leadership. Gribben went on to say that he was confident that, backed up by a strong team, Piccolomini would enjoy similar success in his new role, boosting efficiency and improving customer service.
The lands of eastern Europe are to form an Emerging Markets division that will be headed by the chairman of Willis International and CEO of Willis Emerging Markets, Sarah Turvill. The division will seek to develop and expand the firm’s current business throughout Asia, the Middle East, Russia, Eastern Europe and South Africa.
