Geldof To Headline BIBA 2008 Keynotes

The British Insurance Brokers’ Association has today announced its itinery of guest speakers for its upcoming 30th annual conference in Glasgow to take palce in 2008, including several notable keynote speech prospects including figures from a vairety of political and cultural backgrounds.

Amongst some of the more notable speakers to address the BIBA conference are former rock star and activist Sir Bob Geldof and Security Correspondent for the BBC Frank Gardner, who will both be presenting at the top of the bill for the exhibition and conference line up.

BIBA is also proposing a debate format for one of its keynote deliveries, looking into the relevant global issues for the industry over the coming decade, which will feature a distinguished panel of experts from a number of industries and academic backgrounds, including James Rubin, a former spokesman for the Clinton executive and professor in international relations at LSE, as well as political economist Dr Noreena Hertz and Stephane Garelli from the University of Lausanne.

It is hoped the debate will raise issues of relevance to the insurance industry, with a view to augmenting some of the issues to be presented in the other keynote presentations and in the linked keynote seminar sessions over the course of the exhibition.

The conference and exhibition, scheduled for next year in Glasgow will be free to all BIBA member employees in order to widen accessibility and participation in the events on offer. Speaking on the conference BIBA executive Mr Eric Galbraith suggested that the event is one not to be missed for brokers and industry insiders, and one that is certain to raise interesting points about the current and future outlook of the insurance industry across the country, and indeed internationally.
