Heavy plant extended warranty provider EPG gain Lloyd’s status and aim to expand into Europe in 2008

EPG Insurance Services Limited has been conferred by Lloyd’s with the official status of broker.

The firm is looking to grow its operations throughout both the UK and Europe and is anticipating the demand for its specialist auto and machinery insurance to soar in 2008 when extensive programmes of home and commercial building begin, enabling EPG to become established throughout the continent.

The firm’s chief executive, John Shepherd, explained that with the new status of broker the firm enjoys direct access within Lloyd’s as well as the advantages of belonging to the Lloyd’s community.

Shepherd went on to state that the UK-wide building programmes meant an increase in heavy plant demand and a corresponding increase in the niche cover the firm specialises in.

In addition to its specialisation in auto and machinery insurance the firm also provides a broad range of products, including (but not limited to) agriculture and forestry, marine and aviation as well as all types of reinsurance.

John Shepherd and Jeff Dolton founded the company in 2003, and the firm is based in the well-known Lloyds of London building.

The founders formed the firm to create a niche service, using their extensive experience in specialist reinsurance and insurance to drive the firm into its present position.

Shepherd has expressed the firm’s ambitions to grow into Europe, and beyond, adding that EPG benefited from a young, dynamic team determined to achieve success.

He went on to say that the firm’s quoting system will be made available in over 40 languages to broaden the scope for business on a worldwide basis.
