Guy Carpenter has announced three new co-leaders for GCFac (the firm’s global facultative reinsurance unit); they are Mark Newman, Hugh Powell and John Trace.
Britt Newhouse, the firm’s Americas Operations president, stated that the new appointments would enable the firm to retain its position of market leadership and build on its present strengths.
Newhouse added that the trio’s cumulative experience would prove of great utility in developing strategy for improving customer solutions and premier services throughout the world.
Back in April Guy Carpenter’s senior fac team (Julian Samengo-Turner, Ron Whyte and Marcus Hopkins) was recruited by rival Integro, prompting the firm to reassure its customers that services would not suffer any disruption.
Guy Carpenter’s efforts to sue the three defectors in New York was overruled on appeal in London.
The new team will retain their regional responsibilities in addition to their new global roles. Trace will deal with facultive business in America, Powell has responsibility for Latin America and the Caribbean and Newman will look after facultive business in London, continental Europe and Asia Pacific.
