Pierre Lefèvre, chief executive of Groupama Insurance, has been appointed as the firm’s chief executive for three Italian subsidiaries: Groupama Assicurazioni, Groupama Vita and Nuova Tirrena.

Lefèvre’s first task will be to merge the businesses together, creating what will be Groupama’s biggest subsidiary, employing over a thousand people and with €1.36bn in premiums.

François-Xavier Boisseau has been promoted from his former position of managing director to replace Lefèvre as chief executive. In addition to his new role he will take on board duties for the firm’s UK retail operations.

In his new role Boisseau will report to Jean-Francois Lemoux, Groupama International’s MD.

Lefèvre and Boisseau’s appointments came into effect on 1st November.

Lefèvre reflected on his five years in the UK, expressing his pleasure at his achievements over that time and praising Boisseau for his support. He went on to say he was sad to be leaving, but excited at the exciting new challenge he would face in the future and to state his confidence in his successor in the UK.

Boisseau praised his predecessor’s significant legacy and successful tenure as chief executive in the UK and wished Lefèvre success in his new job.
