Nick Ridgewell has been announced as Morley’s latest appointment, joining the firm as head of the property business in Asia.

Ridgewell has experience in the area, formerly working in Hong Kong as the MD of Macquarie Bank’s real estate business, when his duties included managing both listed and unlisted real estate funds, transactions throughout Asia and delivering the firm’s property investment strategy.

Since leaving that position he has worked in Sydney, as Macquarie DDR Trust’s CEO.

Ian Womack, the MD of property at Morley, expressed delight on behalf of the firm to have their Asian ambitions spearheaded by such a talented, and experienced, individual as Ridgewell. The firm, he added, have strong ambitions to replicate the rapid growth they saw in Europe in Asia.

Over the next four years Morley, which opened for business in the continent on April 2007, intend to invest US$10bn in the region. The firm also wishes to work with a variety of business partners in Japan, China, South Korea and India.
