Insurer Chaucer has today announced the high profile appointment of a former Marsh executive to its new maritime subdivision of its underwriting arm Syndicate 1084, in a move that will see the division look to draw on its collective employee experience over the coming months.
The company today announced former Marsh executive Andrew Voke had been appointed to the post of head of marine operations at th syndicate, with a view to developing client relations within the marine division. He will take up position in the new year.
Prior to the announcement Voke was employed at Marsh as chief executive in its marine and energy division, responsible for handling client relations and leveraging existing business contacts to the benefit of the company. Voke was employed as head of operations on an international level, covering the Middle East and Africa as well as core European business, giving him a pan-national experience
Voke also brings to the table a wealth of experience in marine related insurance industries as well as the mechanics of managing a market driven insurance business. Holding positions at Bowring and elsewhere within Marsh prior, his appointment marks a further step in the development of his career.
Speaking today on the appointment of Voke, Bruce Bartell from the syndicate speculated that the new head of marine operations would bring significant benefit to the organisation as a whole, with the potential to significantly improve business.
Voke himself today said that he delighted to be joining Chaucer, particularly as a result of its impressive staff at present, and the range of opportunities such employment would provide as regards his career.
Andrew Voke will take up his new position in Chaucer when he leaves Marsh in January 2008, allowing time for his previous employer to nominate his successor.
