Michael Bright, Philip Condon and Dennis Lomas, convicted earlier this week of fraud, have been given custodial sentences this morning.
The three men were involved in the collapse of Independent Insurance, and charged with fraud connected to the firm’s running and demise.
Bright, formerly the boss of Independent Insurance, was found guilty of two counts of conspiracy to defraud and received a 7 year sentence for each charge (the sentences will run concurrently).
Lomas, formerly finance director, was given a 4 year sentence for both counts of conspiracy to defraud.
Condon, formerly deputy managing director, was found guilty on a single count of conspiracy to defraud and sentenced to 3 years.
However, the judge stated each man would serve only half his sentence.
