Global insurer Integro has today unveiled former Willis boss Guy Bessis as the inaugural managing principal in its London based international insurance unit, in a move that sees the group increase its wordlwide reach in insurance brokering and client-side risk management.

The company announced the appointment of Bessis today as it launched its new London division, which will see it operate both insurance and reinsurance with a focus on European markets and business development in South Africa as a means of enhancing its global reach.

The move comes as part of Integro’s ongoing expansion across what it sees as rapidly developing markets, whilst it continues to focus on core markets within Europe in order to minimise risk. It is thought that today’s appointment will shortly be followed by several additional high profile staff acquisitions.

Prior to his appointment at Integro, Bessis was employed at a senior executive level with the Willis Group, where he was employed for some seventeen years culminating in a role as managing director of its global markets business, and chairman of its distinct energy division.

Overall, Bessis’ career spans a total of twenty five years in insurance markets at varying levels of responsibility and international exposure. His position in global reinsurance and insurance brokering will see a combination of his global experience, as well as a requirement for his intimate knowledge of the specific global industry.

Speaking today on the appointment, a spokesperson from Integro said they were delighted to announce the appointment of Bessis, which the company projected would enable it to rapidly expand its new division with a view to short term profitability.

Likewise Mr Bessis today himself said that he relished the prospect of working for what he described as a dynamic team-driven company with an internation view on business and insurance services.
