Insurer Marsh has today announced it has opened its Dubai-based forensic accounting and claims service operation, which will focus on clients in North Africa, the Emirates and Asia in providing FACS services alongside its current product offerings.
The move is part of its wider expansion plan on a geographic model that sees it looking to open shop in key locations for risk analysis and claims advice. The division will be responsible for handling claims within its scope that fall in the region against Marsh policies.
The practice, to be based from the Dubai office, will see former senior claims manager Ian Peters make the move from the London office to head up the team there in their provision of forensic account and claims management services to their specific markets.
Ian Peters appointment will see him charged with building up the consulting side of the business, which will offer specific risk and claims advice to clients from the region. Inevitably this means he will be required to draft in several other high profile staff with the experience and expertise necessary to offer advise on risk within the region, which could see Marsh unveiling a number of key appointments from within the UK insurance industry over the coming weeks.
Whilst the division will handle specifically forensic accounting work and claims services related to its specific regional reach, it is also thought that it will handle miscellaneous claims in that region from the Marsh brand, bringing extra efficiency to the operation.
Speaking today on the opening of the Dubai branch, the executive responsible for operations in the Middle East region for Marsh, Robert Makhoul said that the establishment in the region reflects the insurer’s ongoing desire to service the Middle East market, whilst part of its wider strategy in employing more geography specific management structures.
