Arista Insurance has today announced its strengthening of the underwriting division by the appointment of ex-Fusion employee Andy Saxon to regional underwriting manager.
The move comes as part of a wider Arista campaign to bring in fresh personnel in order to strengthen the management of the UK-wide business at a senior level, to help strengthen its position within the UK underwriting and insurance market.
Saxon will be based mainly in the Bristol branch, and will be responsible for managing underwriting operations throughout Bristol, Wales and the South West of England – the same region in which he was previously employed.
The position will see him come into contact with brokers on a regular basis, which it is thought makes Saxon an ideal candidate, having already worked closely with the same brokers during his time at Fusion.
He will also be responsible for overseeing the management of the underwriting department and the regional team of underwriters, in his most senior position to date.
In his previous position he was deputy regional manager for underwriting through Fusion within the Bristol area. As a result, Saxon is a well known name in the local and regional insurance industry, and has formed a number of links with major brokers and clients during his previous employment.
Prior to his time at Fusion Saxon worked for Independent Insurance in the property underwriting division for eight years, gaining invaluable experience as to the groundwork of his trade, according to reports from Arista today.
Also commenting on Saxon’s appointment was Arista regional manager David Aslin, who added that Saxon’s 16 years of experience, particularly at senior level, made him the perfect addition to the Arista management team.
Saxon will take up position within Arista immediately, having been headhunted for his level of experience in the underwriting field throughout the Bristol region.
