Insurance giant Zurich has announced its high profile appointment of Richard Coleman to serve as the head of product lines in the broker division, seeing him move from his current role within the organisation.
The move will see Coleman take over the personal insurance lines division of Zurich’s broker operation through his internal appointment, rounding off a series of notable high profile appointments over the last few months that have been designed to strengthen the Zurich management structure throughout its UK business.
Richard Coleman is currently heading up the Navigators and General lines which deal mainly within insurance for personal boats and yachts. He will remain in post at his current position until a replacement is appointed to allow him to make the switch.
His appointment to the position at the helm of the personal lines of the broker division will see him work with brokers throughout the UK to build on the previous existing client relationships and work with promoting new and innovative product offers down effective verticals.
Divisional heads have spoken today to the expertise and competence Coleman has displayed in his career thus far, which they say will make him the ideal candidate for the position within the personal product lines division.
His new remit will involve overseeing and managing the distribution and creation of personal insurance products for brokers, of which Zurich has a long established pedigree. This will include household and contents insurance offerings, as well as car insurance and other personal consumer insurable subjects.
Richard Coleman is said to be delighted to have been offered the position to further his career within Zurich, and has pledged his commitment to continuing the success of the personal lines division.
Meanwhile managing director David Smith has spoken of his certainty that Zurich will drive forward in the UK under its new leadership to become the leading insurer in the broker personal lines market.
