Insurance giant Aon have today announced the high profile appointment of a new executive to its global finance division in place of outward bound David Bolger, which will see a former Microsoft financial executive take the reigns at the head of the firm’s global financial arm.

Former Microsoft executive Christa Davies will join Aon as head of its global finance division, transposing her career-long expertise in largescale corporate finance to the Aon worldwide operation.

During her time at Microsoft, Christa Davies was chief financial officer over the highly successful Platform and Services arm, which covered Microsoft’s online services as well as Windows client and server software products and saw her through the growth and development of those brands under her financial control.

Having help numerous high ranking positions within Microsoft, Davies is no stranger to working under pressure or within rigourous expansion framework, as will undoubtedly be the case when she assumes her post at Aon.

Her predecessor David Bolger announced earlier in the year that he would be relinquishing his position, after receiving an offer to sit as chief operations executive on the board of the Chicago Olympic Committee. Davies will succeed to her role upon Bolger’s departure to assume his new position.

Aon Chief Executive Gregory Case spoke today of his delight at the appointment of Davies to the position within its global finance division, citing her global success and past experience of pressurised global finance management as invaluable assets to the Aon operation.

The move is part of a wider Aon management restructure which executives are claiming will see the development and enhancement of the Aon brand despite the resignation of key members like Bolger.

The personnel change is likely to take place over the next few weeks as Bolger leaves to pursue his new position within the Chicago Olympic Committee.
