Insurer OAMPS UK has today announced its acquisition of Keith Johnson & Co, in a move that will see the company grow its existing operations within the insurance sector to establish more of a footprint on the current market.
The move will see OAMPS assume the assets and business of Keith Johnson & Co, a leading insurance brokerage company dealing with commercial and private insurance products, with full integration coming over the next few weeks.
OAMPS is currently involved in its own capacity as a insurance broker, dealing with a wide client portfolio and substantial product catalogue. According to business officials, the move to acquire Keith Johnson & Co is a step towards growing the existing customer base within the insurance brokerage market.
It has also been said that the addition of KJC to the OAMPS operation will allow a platform for cross selling to existing customers, in an attempt to establish a more significant market holding for the new entity as a whole.
Analysts have viewed the move as yet another ‘quick route’ for OAMPS to achieve its goals of expanding its UK insurance operation. Whilst it is thought that there were several high profile competing bids for KJC over the period, the connectivity of the existing OAMPS business model and a pledge not to slim down the current organisational structure looks to be among the main attractions of the OAMPS offer.
OAMPS was itself acquired last year by insurer Wesfarmers, who have today spoken to their delight about the move to acquire the existing KJC operation by OAMPS as it looks to further expand its UK reach.
Keith Johnson of KJC also highlighted today that amongst several competing bids for his business, the package offered by OAMPS provided the best all round solution for the future of his business and its stakeholders.
