Mondial, the provider of travel insurance third party administration, has formed a joint venture with Seatwave to provide a new service for consumers purchasing tickets for live events.

Seatwave is the UK’s largest fan to fan ticket exchange and its users will now be protected by Ticketcover, which will refund the cost of tickets when events are cancelled or the ticket holder is unable to make it to the venue.

Ticketcover is a new kind of insurance and Seatwave will be the first UK company to ensure that consumers are refunded for the cost of a seat at sporting, music and other forms of live entertainment, if unforeseen circumstances prevail.

Such circumstances include motor breakdown on the way to the venue, illness, injury, jury service and a range of other occurrences that could keep a person away from their chosen event.

The service will be administered by Mondial and the cost of the cover will be included in the price of all Seatwave tickets.

Seatwave has chosen Mondial as its partner because of the company’s commitment to customer care and for Mondial, the agreement is evidence of its ability to apply its expertise in new market areas.
